Geometry Level 7

Part of the Geometry skill progression -- 8 lessons, each building toward demonstrated mastery.

8 Lessons

What Your Child Will Learn

  1. 1

    Angle Vocabulary and Classification

Identify and classify angles by their measure: acute, right, obtuse, and straight.

Objective: Students will identify angles by type (acute, right, obtuse, straight) and estimate angle measures.
    45 minutes
  2. 2

    Complementary and Supplementary Angles

Understand and calculate complementary (sum to 90) and supplementary (sum to 180) angle pairs.

Objective: Students will identify complementary and supplementary angle pairs and find missing angle measures.
    45 minutes
  3. 3

    Vertical and Adjacent Angles

Identify vertical angles (equal) and adjacent angles, and use these relationships to find missing measures.

Objective: Students will identify vertical and adjacent angles and use their properties to find missing angle measures.
    45 minutes
  4. 4

    Triangle Angle Sum

Discover and apply the Triangle Angle Sum theorem: interior angles of a triangle sum to 180 degrees.

Objective: Students will discover that triangle angles sum to 180 degrees and use this to find missing angles.
    45 minutes
  5. 5

    Triangle Inequality

Determine whether three side lengths can form a valid triangle using the Triangle Inequality theorem.

Objective: Students will apply the Triangle Inequality theorem to determine if three lengths can form a triangle.
    45 minutes
  6. 6

    Exterior Angles of Triangles

Understand exterior angles and the Exterior Angle Theorem: an exterior angle equals the sum of the two non-adjacent interior angles.

Objective: Students will identify exterior angles and use the Exterior Angle Theorem to find missing angle measures.
    45 minutes
  7. 7

    Parallel Lines and Transversals

Identify angle relationships formed when a transversal crosses parallel lines.

Objective: Students will identify corresponding, alternate interior, alternate exterior, and co-interior angles formed by parallel lines and a transversal.
    45 minutes
  8. 8

    Angle Relationships Review

Review and consolidate all GE-7 angle relationship and triangle property skills.

Objective: Students will demonstrate mastery of angle relationships and triangle properties through mixed practice.
    45 minutes
