What Your Child Will Learn

  1. 1

Understanding Large Numbers and Place Value

Extend place value understanding to millions and billions.

Objective: Students will read, write, and understand the value of digits in numbers up to billions, using place value understanding.
    45 minutes
  2. 2

    Rounding Large Numbers

Round multi-digit numbers to any place value.

Objective: Students will round large numbers to any specified place value using place value understanding.
    45 minutes
  3. 3

    Understanding Factors

Find all factor pairs of numbers and understand factor relationships.

Objective: Students will find all factor pairs of a number systematically and understand the relationship between factors and multiplication.
    45 minutes
  4. 4

    Understanding Multiples

Identify multiples and understand their patterns.

Objective: Students will identify multiples, recognize patterns in multiples, and distinguish between factors and multiples.
    45 minutes
  5. 5

    Prime Factorization

Break numbers down into their prime factors.

Objective: Students will find the prime factorization of composite numbers using factor trees and division ladders.
    45 minutes
  6. 6

    Greatest Common Factor (GCF)

Find the greatest common factor of two or more numbers.

Objective: Students will find the GCF using listing, prime factorization, and the ladder method.
    45 minutes
  7. 7

    Least Common Multiple (LCM)

Find the least common multiple of two or more numbers.

Objective: Students will find the LCM using listing, prime factorization, and understand its relationship to GCF.
    45 minutes
  8. 8

Number Sense Review and Problem Solving

Review and apply all NS-5 concepts through problem solving.

Objective: Students will integrate all NS-5 skills including place value, rounding, factors, multiples, GCF, and LCM to solve problems.
