Learn to distinguish between verifiable facts and subjective opinions in texts.

Evaluating Sources
Learn to determine if a source is credible and trustworthy using specific criteria.
Objective: Students will evaluate source credibility using the CRAAP criteria (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, Purpose) and identify signs of bias.45 minutes - 5
Comparing Two Texts
Learn to analyze how two texts on the same topic present information differently by examining what each emphasizes, omits, and how author's purpose affects content.

Analyzing Conflicting Information
Learn to evaluate what to do when sources disagree by identifying the conflict, weighing evidence, and seeking verification.

Synthesizing Information
Learn to combine information from multiple sources to build comprehensive understanding.
Objective: Students will synthesize information from multiple sources by identifying unique contributions from each source, organizing information thematically, and writing synthesis paragraphs that integrate perspectives.45 minutes - 8

Consolidate all RC-6 analysis and evaluation skills through mixed practice and multi-source investigation.
Objective: Students will demonstrate mastery of all RC-6 skills by analyzing arguments, evaluating sources, comparing perspectives, and synthesizing information from multiple texts in an integrated investigation.45 minutes
